What’s In The Box? #LoveWithFood
Love getting my monthly food box from Love With Food. This is part of my Christmas gift from my grandchildren. Every month I get to try new and original food stuff. I cannot wait any longer , so let’s see what’s in the box!!
Family Brunch with the Easter Bunny
We try to get together as often as we can, it is not always easy. But we all agreed that Brunch with The Easter Bunny was a thing to do. Merci’s sister Marlene joined us because she is now a Groovin’ Grandma like us! The more the merrier for sure.
My son in law was nice enough to take a photo of the moms, grandmas and grandchildren at the table. Bless his heart.
The brunch was at The Plattduetsche Park and the festivities include a full buffet brunch with scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, chicken francese, pasta, salad and dessert.
Jake from Jake and the Pirate was there and so were Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck taking photos and dancing with the children!!
The children really loved getting their faces painted. We had hearts, batman a snake and two Mickeys. What a fun way in welcome Spring.
March came in like a lion and hopefully will leave like a lamb. Thank God that no matter how long winter is, Spring always will follow. Happy Spring. Happy Easter.
Himalayan Pink Salt
Salt is an essential staple in everyone’s kitchen and I know better than to set the dinner table without the salt shaker. I like to use Kosher salt and/or Sea salt when I cook and in my shakers, but, Himalayan salt? I never heard of it.Himalayan salt is not white but pink colored.
A pretty pink color. I was introduced to Himalayan salt by my lovely daughter-in-law. She gave me a lecture on how much better this salt is for you. How her brother and sister-in-law stopped using all other salts and only use Himalayan salt. I had never heard of Himalayan salt until then. I was told that this salt was so much more healthier for you (I am into health). She explained that Himalayan salt is pure and natural. It is claimed that Himalayan Pink salt is the purest salt to be found on Gods earth (I am into Gods earth, too).
After her speech I had to buy some Himalayan Pink salt. I forked out almost $5.oo for a small bottle that would be used up in the preparation of just three pots of spaghetti water.
No regrets (Gods earth is pretty big).
I now know a little more about salt.
Like not all salt is created equal, and not all salt is white…
Texting and My Grand Daughter
Like most of us I receive text messages everyday. Texts from my daughter, my daughter-in-law, friends, and sometimes, when it is a special event, my son. Recently I received a special text it was from my grand daughter. I was surprised and shocked. Her first text to me was , “Hi Nunna, what are you doing?” This question put a big smile on my face. How cute she is, asking me what I am doing. So I quickly responded to her, then she texted me again, and we kept texting back and forth sending each other all sorts of emoticons.

It was fun. Until! Until she kept texting me through the night. Texting me when she was sitting at the end of the table. Texting me when I was relaxing in bed . Sophie liked to text questions. Are you eating? Are you watching TV? Are you in bed? Are you at the gym? All kinds of, are you questions. Texting, texting, texting…it was something new and different for her to do. I tell you she texted me more than she ever talked to me. By the third texting day every time I heard my phone ting I would think, it’s Sophie, and it would be her.
I did not discourage her from texting me. Nor did I tell her to stop texting me so frequently, for I was sure that the novelty would soon wear off, since it takes her a longer time to type the letters she needs to make a word.
It has now been 5 days since her texting brigade began and already she has begun to slow down.
Smiley Emoticon!
But I don’t want her to come to a complete halt because I love the idea that when she thinks to ask me a question she can reach out with a text and we are instantly connected. It’s like Sophie is stretching out her arm and pulling me closer to her, instantly, at any time of any day.
Ting, ting, ting…have to go now my grand daughter is texting me.
Really smiling emoticon!
