Love With Food – More Than A Gift

lovewithfoodMy daughter was on materntiy bed rest during the holidays and did all  of her Christmas shopping on the internet.  On Christmas Eve Natalie & Liam announced they got me food for Christmas, but there was no gift under the tree.  It would be coming by mail.  (Who knows her Mama?)  This is the fourth Love With Food box I have received.  I look forward to each month and call the kids to let them know I got it.  The box is filled with different and new items everytime.

lovefood

This is what I got this month, everything was delish but truly, the best part is that for every box sent, Love With Food will donate a meal to a hungry child.

Baby First

My niece is having her first baby.  Oh, what joy!  A baby!  The first baby is always special and everything my niece is about to experience will be all new to her.  The baby will put a smile on her face, and love in her heart, and everything she will do will be done for her baby…yes, Baby First will be a staple in her home.NUMBERS AROUND THE GLOBE

Baby First has many videos for her little one to watch…for ages 3 months thru 4 years of age…Baby First will be around for quite some time. Teaching numbers, singing songs, telling bed time stories.  Baby First will be a building block of learning experiences for my niece, and most of all for her baby.

My grandson, who is almost 3 years old, loves Baby First videos.

Christian’s Baby First library consist of  Art and Music(a sensory wonderland), Color Crew (all about colors), Numbers Around the Globe (adventure in counting)…Love it!   When it is time to calm Christian down, so I can get some me time, Baby First’s Sweet Dreams (calming music and imagery) video always does the trick.

In my book baby’s are always first…so Baby First it is!

Baby First has over 300 + Videos, 40 + games, and 60 lessons.

Shopping, Time of the Season

What To Buy In April

april13Here are some suggestions on what to buy in April.

april131

Gym Membership – This is the slow season for gym memberships and you should be able to get a hefty discount!

april132

Thrift Stores – Spring is the season for cleaning house – so house cleaners donate more stuff to thrift stores – Love It!!!  This is a great time to go to garage sales too.

april133

Rainwear – April showers means look for slickers, rain hats and umbrella later in the month

april134

Televisions  – April 1 – March 31 is the Japanese fiscal year and they are clearing out their stock now.  Great time to pick up a big-screen to watch the end of basketball season.

april135

Vacuum Cleaners – Spring cleaning calls for a good vacuum cleaner and this is when the stores are clearing the old to make room for the new!

april136

Snow Blowers – There may not be many left – but if you’re lucky to find one, buy it.

Blueberry Sangria

blueberrysangria

The 60’s, a great time in my life…and a great time to drink Sangria,a red wine and fruit drink: a chilled Spanish drink of red wine, fruit juice, carbonated water, sugar, and brandy or another liquor, usually served in a jug with pieces of fruit, yes that’s Sangria. I was younger in the 60’s and I never really appreciated any type of wine, but Sangria it went down easy because it was sweet and I liked sweet. Now that I am older, and least I should say, wiser, I have learned to appreciate a good bottle of wine and Sangria, well let me just say, sweet is not my thing anymore.

But, I recently went to a great restaurant and I was told their Sangria was great, so I opted for a glass of Sangria and now I can say,

I like Sangria again.   It went down easy and not as sweet as I remember it to be.

So I just want to give you a recipe that I found and I can tell you after drinking this Sangria you will be saying, “OLE” , too

Blueberry Sangria:

Ingredients:

1 bottle red wine

1 lemon slice

l lime sliced

1 orange sliced

1 cup fresh blueberries

1 cup Blueberry Vodka

sugar to taste, but I left out the sugar…don’t need it too sweet.

12 oz club soda.

Directions:

Combine all ingredients but club soda in a large bowl, or pitcher, and chill overnight, or several hours before serving.

When ready to serve add club soda and pour into a great wine glass….ENJOY!
