The Oak Ridge Boys – 17th Avenue Revival Album #CountryGospel

The Oak Ridge  Boys have recently released the 17th Avenue Revival Album.  Their 17th Avenue Revival Album was recorded with producer, Dave Cobb, at Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A on Music Row.

Known for their gospel music , The Oak Ridge Boys started out as a gospel quartet, then moved toward secular country-pop.  Their 60’s hit Elvira gave way to the “oom-pop-a-mow-mow”  sound.  The Oak Ridge Boys have been together for about 52 years and in 17th Avenue Revival they return to  their rock-n-roll and Southern gospel roots. 17th Avenue Revival brings The Oak Ridge Boys back to their roots, with songs of hope, love and light.

Keens #Chophouse #Steakhouse #Nightout

Keens Steakhouse, the perfect place to enjoy a fine steak, with fine friends.  Keens is over a century old, a true landmark.   Keens walls must hold a lot of dinner talk secrets.

This was our third visit to Keens Steakhouse.  In this third visit we were escorted to the upstairs dining room.  How surprised we were to find out that Keens had an upstairs dining area with pictures of days gone by.    Like this photo of Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th President of the United States.   I imagined President Roosevelt, sitting in the same dining room area where we sat, eating a…well, whatever he would have been eating I am pretty sure he would’ve had a meal fit for a…U.S. President.

A head of a moose was giving us a side stare as we sat in the upstairs dining room.   Every time I see a moose’s head protruding out of a  wall, I always think of Abbott and Costello’s movie Hold that Ghost, where Moose (a character in the film) said,” I keep my money in my head.”  So goes the joke.  Love, love, Abbott and Costello films.  Their comedy was simple, but funny.

Well,  you can’t be a vegetarian or  practice a veganism, when indulging yourself at Keens Steakhouse.   We ordered Keens famous Mutton Chop, and their perfectly cooked New York Prime T-Bone Steak.  Also, the Keens, Prime Porterhouse for two.  When the dish was placed on the table it gave us reason to pause.  Love it!  A Keens Steakhouse design.

A night at Keens is  a night of class.   Keens Steakhouse a treat well worth the price.

Keens Steakhouse – no better place to have a fine meal,  with fine friends, and a fine husband.  Oh, and never forget the fine martini.  By the grace of God, we will visit Keens  a fourth time.

Marvel Universe Live Birthday Celebration at Nassau Coliseum #AgeOfHeros

My grandsons are crazy for Marvel Heros and Villians, so when I found out that Marvel Universe Live was going to be at Nassau Coliseum I jumped to it and got tickets for the family.  We did not tell any of the kids where we were going, they thought we were going to see a ballgame and then the closer we came to the entrance they realized what was in store!!

See that smiling face between Mom and Dad – that’s what I was going for. My grandson was so excited and happy to be at the show. He got into the act and helped out his heros with his own super power ray gun the whole show through.

When we are together we don’t realize we are making memories, we know that we  are just having fun.

I love spending time with my family and there are so many games and toys that honestly,  I just never know what to buy so I try to do things that include everyone when we celebrate a birthday.  Never ever underestimate the importance of having fun.  Happy Birthday Big Boy.

St Patrick’s Day Dinner #BetterLateThanNever #Irishblessings

We celebrated St. Paddy’s Day 24 hours after March 17th. I’m pretty sure St. Patrick would not have had any problem with this late celebration. We, just like everyone who adopts the Irish heritage on St. Patrick’s day,  cooked all the Irish trimming on March 18th.  Every year, on this day, my mom bakes her infamous Irish soda bread.  That’s not the only thing she does on St Pat’s, she retells the story of how she acquired the traditional Irish soda bread recipe.  A recipe given to her by Mayor Koch’s housekeeper, cook- something like that.   Her story never changes, which leads me to believe she’s not fibbing.

So the Irish soda bread, along with the 4 corn beefs briskets, and the 6  large cabbages were served.   Left overs were forthcoming.  However, this year there was something special added to our St. Paddy’s Day celebration.

A couple of couples!  Dear to the heart!  This is the Luck of The Irish!  As well as, an Irish blessings!

Now, even though, it was an Irish celebration, our little Emma’s swash buckling sword put great-grandpa to sleep.  Ha!  It was all that corn beef and cabbage that really did it.

Happy Belated St. Patrick’s Day!
