The Truth Won’t Help Them Now – Joan Hunter and Steven Cobos #bookworm

Finally have some time for me and I love a good fast paced book and  The Truth Won’t Help Them Now fits the bill. It’s a story of  two separate crimes brought on by gambling, corruption, and gangs. A gritty district attorney and a band of detectives are on the quest to solve these crimes as money, power, and fame become motivating factors that eventually lead to blackmail and murder in a twisting thriller inspired by literary fiction of the past.

The Truth Wont Help Them Now,” authors Joan Hunter and Steven Cobos take readers on a unique and intriguing murder mystery that highlights the corruption of Los Angeles in 1939. That’s where you will find me.

HUE #Workout #Sportlegging #FREETOMOVE

I am so into leggings.  I love leggings because they are comfortable and sexy.  Pair them with a pair of boots and your ready to rumble.  HUE  leggings are trendy and fashionable they offer many colors and styles.  I came across HUE while shopping at Lord & Taylor.  Looking for some updated gym attire.  As I rummaged around I came across HUE.

I loved the way they looked.  So I purchased two pairs.

The open airy side of the first pair were perfect.  A little air while I do squats and/or burpbees is always a benefit, while I am sweating a gym storm.
Hue has an array of leggings – denim, knit, twill, capri & skimmers…so many choices, so many colors, so many different looks.

With HUE your free to move!

HUE!

Oh, What Fun #Florida #Vacation #DisneyWorld

Yesterday, I posted about a family reunion and how all the parties involved loved seeing each other.I mentioned that the kids  pulled out a family album and strolled backward in time as they reminisced.  Well, they weren’t the only ones who were reminiscing. As we paged through the album we, the adults, screamed with laughter as we saw ourselves going back at least 30 years.  The best photos were the ones from our Florida vacation. I couldn’t believe that my husband and Joe use to look like that (of course I haven’t changed )  🙂

Here they are waiting patiently on those long Disney lines (patience, now that is something that gets chipped away with age, I mean time.)

In this picture you would think my husband was a jogger… NOT!  How could he do any running with that monster of a video camera.  I can’t believe Bill carried that thing around taking videos in that hot August Florida sun.  What happened to that guy?

What joy!  I have no idea why my daughter, my son, and Christopher have such grouchy faces.  Maybe someone said the wrong thing, like maybe SMILE. I’m glad Dana (my niece) and Jeannine gave a happy look.

On our Florida trip we rented a flat that we all shared.  Two families under one roof.  We shared so much back then.  As you can see in the picture I use to smoke.  We all smoked back then.  I’m not sure what is going on in this picture but if I know my family they were trying to get me to look at the camera to take a picture.  I never did like taking pictures.  I still don’t!

Again, my children look really unhappy.  And I thought our Florida vacation was so much fun.  Maybe they were just tired.  Yes, that’s it, they were tired after a long ‘miserable’ day in Disneyland.  These kids never seem to appreciate anything but then who does when your that young.

What a crew.  What a trip.  See Disney World in summer was hot, muggy, and super crowded.  The only thing I remember from that trip was that our children would just keep saying- while we are happily going along in mouseville – “Let’s get back to the hotel to go in the pool.”  Just what we wanted to hear after putting up with the long lines in Disney and the awful heat in Florida.

Don’t get me wrong Disney World was fun and surely a once in a life time experience (emphasizes on once),  I’ve been there, done that, and never-ever doing it again!  Sorry, Mickey nothing personal.

Oh! I just remembered my husband didn’t carry around that 80’s video camera for nothing…somewhere in this house are tapes of our Disney World adventure.  Heaven only knows where the heck they are!

Reunion #Childhoodfriends

Childhood friends are, in my opinion, the best friends you can have.  ‘Best’ not in the traditional sense of ‘Best’ friend, but, ‘Best’ because they are friends who share moments of your childhood; going back to your toddler years.  The truth is  once your childhood has past no other friend can relate to your childhood experiences.   Hence, why a reunion was planned for my children and my girlfriend’s children, for they had not seen each other for many years but shared childhood memories that kept them connected.  Yes, it was a little scary to gather these now adults in one room but it turned out to be lots of fun.

Now the question is, What do you do when you see your childhood friends after many years?  Why, you pull out a family album and begin to reminiscence and talk about all the Christmas’ and family vacations you all shared.

It was interesting to see our children immediately fall back to their childhood laughter.

Yeah,  just like old times, Jeannine, Christopher, Damian and Erica got back into their lets just hang out mood. The only difference is  now we have additions to the family,  spouses and children added to the mix

Us parents were so proud, and pleased, to see how they’ve grown into lovely adults and caring parents.

Here they are, Erica, Damian, Jeanine and Christopher as  adults on the right and  as children on the left.

A growing family is a blessing.  A family that grows and stays together is an extra blessing.

Oh, where did the years go?  I thought.  What rabbit hole did time fall through?

Time has no master and is never boomerangs back.

However, your childhood friends can open up that can of time by releasing those memories you all shared together.

Thanks, Joe and Joanne.

May our friendship continue with the passing of time.
