Baltimore And The Aquarium

Every year for Christmas my parents give me and my husband a gift certificate for a night at the Marriott Hotel.  It is really a great gift. So what we do is have a little weekend getaway.  This year we decided to do a two night stint in Baltimore, Maryland.  I have been to Baltimore…heavens, it has to be more than 25 years since I was there.  Boy, have things changed in Baltimore,  but then what has not changed in 25 years.
My husband standing in front of the Hard Rock Cafe…no we did not visit HRC, just took a picture of it.  See I have been to the HRC  in New York and honestly, I have a been there done that attitude when it comes to the HRC.

What we were doing was getting our tickets to visit the Baltimore Harbor Aquarium.  If the tickets were not part of the package deal that we managed to purchase from the Marriott I would never have opted to do this aquarium tour.

We got to see some very interesting sea life, and let me say what a life it is…I loved the sea horses…so tiny so amazing…I wonder what tiny fishs get to ride on these guys. Can you guess what this is…never saw such beautiful colored  sea life.  I can see these little guys being used as pompoms by Elmo and his friends.  10 tentacles and not a octopus?

Rip-it, Rip-it… I wondered if this Frog  could have been a prince.  This frog was not giving out any information.

An unbelievable Sting Ray…all I kept thinking about was how Steve Irwin was stung by one.  I was foolishly hoping to see it come flying out of the water, no such luck.  Of course we were all out of harms way incase this ray decided to give us a show.

I called this fish a leopard fish, actually this fish was a shark and when they are little they have these spots and as they grow the spots dissappear.  I was impressed by his color and all he did was swim in a circle.  Well, they all swam in a circle, but the shark swam faster. As beautiful as the shark is I would never want to meet him in the waters…nice sharkie…. Bobbi Ann and Carmine in the jaws of  jaws…well not really, all the teeth in this jaw came from different sharks…still a pretty big dental bill….This was the best part of the aquarium the Dolphin show…I wondered how I could get a job working with Flipper…

Jumping dolphins are always entertaining.

Except when they jump high enough to cause a splash that comes down on the audience.  Not so much fun getting wet in the month of October.Dragons in the water…no, just boats.  This was not part of the aquarium, but certainly a harbor treat…again, water activities in October was not a go….standing on shore and watching them sail was fine by me.

Time To See The Dentist

Hope you had a great Halloween and got lots of treats!!!..Know what time it is now?  That’s right ……..I visit the dentist twice a year for a cleaning and always pray that I get out of there without a problem.  According to Health/Healthy Woman, if you have any of the symptoms below, schedule an appointment now.

Tooth or gums hurt, especially when you eat or drink
Gums bleed during brushing, and they’re red, swollen or tender
Breath is always bad
Pus appears between teeth and gums
One or more teeth are loose
Biting or chewing causes pain

The last time I went to the dentist in July he told me I needed to cap one of my teeth next time I make an appointment. Not a happy camper but I have to be a big girl and just do it. Right after I finish this Blow-Pop.

Family Brunch

This family brunch was for two celebrations-  Halloween and my niece Sandras’ 18th birthday.  All the children were dressed for Halloween – Natalie was Cinderella  Bride – she got to wear lipstick and Liam was Bumble Bee from the Transformers – did you know  that he can change into a car? Wow.

The brunch was at my daughters’ Vera and Bill town club  – I was so happy that it was a beautiful day after the snow storm. Here is Sandra, Nolan, my sister Marianne and cousin Veronica – have to say we had a great afternoon.

Plenty to eat at the buffet –  loved the pumpkin ravioli – they were also serving vulture (chicken) and jackel (beef) with all the sides and fixings you can imagine.  I just had to try the vulture – you know what – it tasted like chicken.

There was pumpkin painting  and a DJ for entertainment – lots of fun and excitement – oh, and plenty of candy, ice cream  and cake  too.  Everyone was a kid for the day – even my mom.

This Straw Man was on stilts all afternoon – he did  a wonderful job entertaining the children of all ages.

Guess who got a new car and promised to take me for a spin?  Sandra, I’ll be calling  you!
